Word of the Day
Lk 2, 22-40
Wednesday, February 2

"Now, O Lord,
you may let your servant
depart in peace according to thy word.
For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
thou hast prepared before the face
of all peoples:

light to illuminate
the Gentiles

and glory of thy people Israel. "

Feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple: Simeon acknowledged. What he sees in Jesus is the" Hi ". The name" Jesus "means" God saves. "He recognizes it as one who brings liberation and healing, health deep. Whoever is Peace. Man can not save himself. We do it every day experience. The Son of God became man because only God could save man and to do so, he must become human. Pilate unknowingly prophesy: "Behold the Man!" In Jesus, the man is restored ... And if God was incarnate, there is in man what the Fathers call "capax Dei" that is to say "God's ability" This dimension in us by which He keeps us in existence and joins us. And to save man, he must assume his humanity. He who is the Light became one of us to illuminate his marvelous light of his divine life, to go to the Love that is our fundamental nature as it is His. Do we not he created in his image? ... Or "God is Light" (1 jn 1, 5) , "God is Love" (1 Jn 4, 8). "I am the Light of the world ..." says Jesus and He adds "You are the Light of the world ..." This is possible only Him.
